The Day Before
Thanksgiving 2001
We were expecting 19 people for Thanksgiving dinner - THAT is a bunch of folks to squeeze around our kitchen table. So we moved the kitchen table and a dining room table into the living room.
We had a dry run on Wednesday night with about 13 of us. That's my mom and dad checking out the seating arrangement and setting the table.
We had the two tables set up in a "T", and spent several hours discussing the best way to fit 19 people into the space we had available. Several suggestions were vetoed right away - including taking turns eating and having everyone stand up. Starting on the left and going clockwise, we've got Paula, Sarah, David, my dad, my mom, Bert, Carol, Chris, and Carrie. 13 around the table worked fine, but there was some doubt that 19 would fit.
After everyone else left Wednesday night, David suggested putting the two tables end-to-end. We did the rearranging, and it looks like it might work. Table arrangement copyright 2001 by David Ensinger
