Paula's Memorial Video - Page 3

Paula lighting candles on a birthday cake.

This was one of the last birthdays that Paula was still able to light candles. She sure is concentrating on those candles, isn't she?

Sarah & Paula.

You know what strikes me about this picture? The tile floor and the wall paper on the walls in the background.

After several years of running her wheelchair around the kitchen, we had to replace the tile floor because the wheelchair was breaking the tiles into little bitty pieces. And the wall paper? Welp, it was all torn and scratched from being hit by the wheelchair. So we put in some unfinished wood paneling that doesn't really show the scratches very much.

We made a lot of little modifications to the house over the years, all designed to make it as easy as possible for Paula to continue living at home. Funny...it isn't seeing Paula in this picture that brings tears to my eyes, it is seeing the floor and the kitchen wall.

Paula always looked forward to Christmas & Thanksgiving - either our house was filled with family (as shown above) or my sister's house was filled with family.

Going to Virginia for vacation!

David's friend Jimmy, David, Paula, and Chris.

Chris is all wet. Paula is completely dry. Both are going to change real soon. In the meantime, David and Jimmy both got pushed into the water.

Chris is going to give Paula a very wet hug.

Ahhhh.... Sarah trying to protect her mom. Sarah ended up in the water.

The rest of the pictures in this series, with Chris doing a a cannonball to splash Paula and Chris giving Paula a wet hug, are in a different section of the video. I'll move them here when I get to digitizing that part of the video.
