Carrie's notes from her part of Paula's memorial service.

Things I'll Miss About Paula:

1. Her incredibly accurate daily weather reports

2. Being her partner-in-crime in ruining her diet by sneaking her pieces of chocolate

3. Coloring Easter eggs with her

4. Playing (losing to her) in Uno

5. Giving her Pert Plus mohawks in the shower

6. Swimming with her at the lake and holding her head up a little so she didn't get water in her ears

7. Baking cookies (Christmas or otherwise) with her (I would measure out the ingredients and hold the bowl in her lap so she could add them)

8. The way she tried to sneak cookies from the cooling rack

9. The fact that she dried and put away the dishes after we baked cookies so I didn't have to

10. Never knowing what name I'd be called (Carrie, Kira, Katie, Carol, Kiri...It made life interesting.)

11. Hearing baby stories about Chris, Brian, and Sarah...especially the one about how ugly Chris was

12. Passing out Halloween candy

13. Making her clean the guts out of the Halloween pumpkins

14. MS Walk - how she loved the people, food, and prizes, and looked forward to taking the dogs (at least Kira) this year

15. Taking walks around the neighborhood with Paula and Chris and looking at the flowers or the autumn leaves

16. Hearing "for me" at the end of every sentence

17. How she changed the subject or avoided questions by talking about her nose

18. "Peachy keen jelly bean" instead of "alright"

19. How upset she would get when Rob teased her about going to White Castle

20. How cute, sweet, and innocent she looked when she was tucked into bed with her teddy bear

21. Seeing her hold our children

22. How she made me feel like a better person

When Carrie Emailed these notes to me, she signed the Email "Love, Carrie." I think that phrase pretty much sums up the relationship Paula had with Carrie - Carrie loved Paula and Paula loved Carrie, and you could see it any time they were together.
