Eulogy to Paula Jean Replogle Fish

By Penny Replogle

Jesus has prepared a place in Heaven for Paula Fish.  Only Jesus could do that for He is the Son of God.  But I like to imagine that he has waited for Paula to get there to help teach the angels how to have true laughter.

Paula always had a special smile and a great sense of humor.  She always had a twinkle in her eye that made the room light up.  When you were in her presence, you knew you were loved.

Many of you knew Paula as friend, or Aunt.  You knew a lady who gave of herself unselfishly.  She always had a smile and was so willing to listen to your story. Many of you knew her as cousin. She loved the joy of such a big family.

Two of you knew her as daughter. You knew her first.  She was your first born daughter.  You know the joy that only a parent can know.  Two of you knew her as daughter-in-law.  She is the one your son picked out to share his life with.

Four of you knew her as sister.   John, David, Jim, Amy, I’m sure you could tell us many stories about Paula.  She was the little sister to two of you, and big sister to the other two.  She loved her family.

Many of you knew her as sister-in-law.  You always knew you could count on her for the support you needed, She was more a sister to us than a sister-in-law.

Three of you knew her as Mom. Chris, Brian, Sarah, Only your knew the very strong unconditional love that a mother can give.  She loved all of you with the kind of love that your Heavenly Father gives, unconditional-  no questions asked, no answers expected.  Just pure love. One of you had the honor of calling her mother-in-law.  Carrie, she was so proud of you.  You were so kind to her and such a good friend.  TJ , Josh, she was honored that you were part of her extended family.

One of you knew her as life partner, best friend, and wife.  Rob, your dedication to Paula was incredible.  I personally cannot remember Paula without Rob.  I remember helping her get ready for a dance with you, a prom with you, and a wedding with you. I remember a vow you made with her, for better for worse, for richer  for poorer, in sickness and in health .  You lived up to that vow. She loved you and the family that you two created together.

On all of our lives Paula Fish has left a note.  A melody that will play on in memory forever.  It is etched in our minds and no one can ever take that music away. We are so blessed that we will always hear her voice and see her face.  That glorious smile that lit up a room.  Also one Blessed Day we shall be reunited with her in the presence of Jesus Christ- our Lord and Savior.  So, for now “Let not your Hearts be Troubled.” Accept the peace that Jesus offers you to provide comfort and calm.  Paula Fish is at rest.

Paula believed in God and she believed in Jesus Christ.  She was confident of her place in Heaven.  She was not afraid to die because she experienced the peace that Jesus promised.  Paula knows the one who is the way, the truth, and the life.  Paula, through Him has come home to her heavenly Father, Her Father in Heaven..

Even as we grieve at the end of Paula’s life on Earth- we can and we will rejoice that Paula has begun her new life in Heaven. She has received her heavenly crown.

When she went before His throne, he looked at her and said,”Well Done Thy Good and Faithful Servant.  Welcome Home my child.”
