Time Period at Aquamarine: 63 - 71
At the Cabana Club, I was on the swim team at the same time as Barb Archer, Jon and Steve Belcher, the Fallon brothers, Tom Doyle, Steve Molk, Joy Gray, Kathy Flint and Jim Muskie. I also spent a lot of time playing paddleball on the courts out back. Lots of folks from back then probably remember my mom, who worked the front gate for several years. After graduating from Whitehall Yearling High School in 1971, I went to Ohio State as a music major. In 1974, I married Paula Replogle, who was also from Whitehall. We have three kids (Chris in 1977, Brian in 1978 and Sarah in 1980), who all graduated from Worthington Kilbourne High School. I spent 23 years working for a fluid power distributor, first in outside sales, then in marketing. The company was originally called Hydraulic & Air Controls and changed its name to Taylor Newcomb. Remind me to tell you sometime about the hydraulic system I designed to raise and lower a 300' long "wall of glass" at Scioto Downs race track. Paula contracted the "chronic progressive" type of multiple sclerosis sometime around 1982, and our household life has focused on the kids (Chris and Sarah were VERY involved with soccer, Brian with theater) and taking care of Paula. In October of 1998, Taylor Newcomb made me their 46th person who was "downsized" out of a job. Since Paula's condition had progressed to the point where she can't be left along for more than several hours at a time, we decided to try and make a go of a home business - so I can work from the house and take care of her. As part of the home business, I do a whole bunch of different things, which you can see on our home page, http://www.ccreations.com When I'm not working or taking care of Paula, my hobbies include playing soccer, playing with my computers, and playing the saxophone.
